It hasn’t been a typical summer in Siberia. High temperatures for this time of year are usually in the mid-to-low 60s Fahrenheit, but this July they hit 90 degrees, and didn’t drop much below a high of 80 until just this week. Meanwhile, potentially record-breaking wildfires continue to rage, with over 22,200 acres of active burning.

The Siberian Times emphasized the lighter side of the heat wave, with photos of young people playing beach volleyball in swimsuits, a rare sight in Novosibirsk.

But high temperatures are becoming more frequent, and they are an important factor in Siberia’s historic fires. And although the whole planet is warming, Russia has seen it happen particularly quickly, “about .51°C per decade compared to Read more…

Spanish astrophysicists analysed fragments of the meteor that were scattered across the Russian town of Chelyabinsk, where the meteor landed, and claim it came from the large Apollo asteroid that regularly crosses passed Earth as it orbits the sun.

They added that the piece may have broken off because of the stress caused by the gravitaional pull of the planets and the sun, or could have been caused by the asteroid hitting into something else during its orbit.

August 6, 2013 Comments off

beforeitsnews.com

According to this video just released by Russia Today, the Russian meteor from earlier in the year has a gang of followers, possibly on the very same path, now approaching Earth. Is THIS what all the FEMA preparation is REALLY about? If RT knows this, the US government would have to know this too, no? Why haven’t they told us anything?

Russian-Chinese anti-terror drills are in full swing with the latter’s tanks and gunships training at a military range in the Urals. It comes less than a month after joint naval drills, the largest of their kind China has participated in to date.

The joint counter-terror exercises, codenamed Peace Mission 2013, went live on Saturday and will last until August 15.

“The key goal of the upcoming maneuvers is to organize the joint work by control authority and troops to prepare and conduct military actions during the anti-terrorist operation. The maneuvers will take place in three stages, which include the re-deployment of troops, the planning of the operation and joint military actions,” a military press release said.

Maneuvers have been prepared by the United Strategic Command of the Russian Central Military District and the Shenyang Military Region of the People’s Liberation Army of China.

Experts are pondering whether a meteorite shower which caused panic in Russia, injuring over 500 people, devastating buildings and wiping out the cell phone network, is linked to today’s fly-by of DA14, the “city killer” asteroid that NASA has assured will not hit the earth.

The meteor shower, which was dramatically captured by numerous people on cell phone videos, was described by some as “like a scene from the Armageddon movie,” with YouTube clips showing a Read more…

Why Are Russia And China Hoarding So Much Gold?

February 13, 2013 Comments off

etfdailynews.com

india-gold-etfWill oil soon be traded in a currency that is thousands of years old?  What would a “gold for oil” system mean for the petrodollar and the U.S. economy?  Are Russia and China hoarding massive amounts of gold because they plan to kill the petrodollar?  Since the 1970s, the U.S. dollar has been the currency that the international community has used to trade oil around the globe.  This has created an overwhelming demand for U.S. dollars and U.S. debt.  But what happens when the rest of the globe starts rejecting the increasingly unstable U.S. dollar and figures out that gold can be used as a currency in international trade?  The truth is that it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to figure that out.  Demand for the U.S. dollar and U.S. debt would fall off the map and there would be a rush into gold unlike anything we have ever seen before.  So are Russia and China accumulating unprecedented amounts of gold right now because they eventually plan to cut the legs out from under the petrodollar and they want to gobble up huge stockpiles of gold before the cat is out of the bag?  Of course they will never admit this publicly, but there are Read more…

Iranian scientists – with Russian help – have set up two sites to use laser technology to enrich uranium for the regime’s nuclear bomb program, according to a source in the Revolutionary Guards intelligence unit.

The Russians had argued that due to IAEA monitoring and Western countries’ lurking satellites, it would be wise to use lasers to enrich uranium as, the source added, it is 16 times more productive, requires less space and energy, and is much easier to hide.

In 2010, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad boasted that Iran possessed laser enrichment technology, but the regime refused to respond to demands by the International Atomic Energy Agency to explain its laser program.

The IAEA in a visit to a laboratory in Lashka Abad, Iran, in 2003 had noticed work on laser isotope separation but could not determine the Read more…

China, Russia Eye Enhanced Antimissile Collaboration

The United States’ enhanced missile defense efforts are leading China and Russia to step up joint work on their own antimissile efforts, RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday.

“We are concerned about U.S. plans to build a global missile defense system, including in the Asia-Pacific region,” Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said while in Beijing for strategic talks with Chinese officials.

“Our Chinese partners share our concerns and we have agreed to coordinate our actions in that respect,” he added.

Moscow has long expressed concern that U.S. missile defense deployments in Europe might undermine Russia’s strategic security. The Obama administration has also sought to increase missile defense cooperation with Asian allies, including fielding a second X-band radar in Japan.

There are indications that a another X-band system could be deployed in the Philippines or a nearby state, and the United States is moving to increase the number of ships with Aegis antimissile technology deployed in the sector, according to the report.
