Srinagar, India, Sept 14, IRNA — A helicopter along with Chinese Frontier Guards has reportedly landed in a frontier region of Kashmir in what is seen by India as an offensive act and a possible case of intrusion.

Quoting sources, the CNN-IBN news channel reported on Tuesday night that Chinese helicopter landed in Chumur area near the Line of actual Control in Ladakh region of Kashmir.

The report further said that Chinese Frontier Guards who are known to have helicopters have also been seen in the area.

An unconfirmed report said two Chinese helicopters, along with seven to eight troopers on board, landed in the area and damaged “unused bunkers” of India, before flying back undetected.

This is not the first time that China has intruded into the country but they have been doing it in Chumur for the last five years as it forms part of their extended claim in Ladakh, they added.

According to reports, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police is stationed there but distance between two posts is more than 20 km and Air Defence radar coverage is not 24×7, thereby making intrusion easier.

Kashmir has a 646-km border with China which remains undemarcated at several places.
