MOBILE, Ala. — With six new dolphin carcasses discovered in Mississippi and Alabama since Saturday, a review of the scientific literature associated with similar mass die-offs of marine mammals around the world suggests a common culprit: a morbillivirus.

In the same family as the viruses that cause measles in humans and canine distemper in dogs, there are well-documented outbreaks of fatal morbillivirus infections in dolphins, whales and seals around the world since the 1980s.

Jerry Saliki, a University of Georgia researcher and veterinarian who has published a number of scientific papers on morbillivirus infections in dolphins, said the virus could be responsible for the current mass die off.

“It is certainly possible. In the past, there have been significant die offs in the Gulf with dolphins that were attributed to morbillivirus,” Saliki said Monday. “But, there are Read more…

Tree-killing disease found in Florida

MIAMI — The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has positively identified the presence of a destructive disease that affects avocado trees and other trees in the laurel family.

State and federal agriculture experts say laurel wilt disease has been detected on three swamp bay trees in Miami Dade County.

The fungal disease is spread by the redbay ambrosia beetle.

If the disease spreads, it could potentially harm Florida’s avocado industry, which represents nearly $13 million to the local economy, with more than 6,773 production acres in Miami-Dade County, with some acreage in Collier County.

DNA “Genetic Patdown” Introduced to Airports by DHS

NetBio — Rapid DNA Analysis Solutions

Nicholas West
Activist Post

A new level of invasive screening is scheduled for airports this summer:  a portable DNA scanner to conduct on-site, real-time genetic testing.

This technology is being implemented under the cover of combating human trafficking, illegal immigration, and finding missing persons, but Richard Seldon of NetBio, creator of the scanners, clearly states that “DNA information has the potential to become part of the fabric of day-to-day life.” In an interview with Katie Drummond who broke this story for The Daily, Seldon envisions additional applications in emergency rooms, food safety tests, and law enforcement.

DNA collection is actually nothing new, as the Pentagon has admitted that it currently has a DNA database with 80,000 suspected foreign terrorists on it, and growing daily.  However, this collection apparatus has been secretly in place for Americans as well.  Lawsuits are pending from families who uncovered a secret program to collect DNA from babies and store it in a military database.  However, that was a secret that had to be uncovered.  The fact that DNA screening is being rolled out openly marks a new level of blatant tyranny in America.

To a certain extent, DNA collection already has become part of the fabric of day-to-day life; police in America have had the authority to conduct warrantless searches since 2009 by taking blood and saliva during arrests, even from those not convicted of a crime.  This has quickly morphed into DNA being taken through mandatory blood tests at DUI checkpoints in Florida.

It has been argued that DNA extraction is no different than taking fingerprints.  This argument is patently absurd, due to the simple fact that fingerprints have no bearing on one’s genetic information . . . or manipulation.  It is the genetic information of individuals that has been the holy grail of all tyrannies as the endgame for their control grid.

The current focus on DNA extraction and databasing is a well-known globalist initiative stated by the UN to register every newborn.  This initiative has the full support of globalist and population-control advocate, Bill Gates, who would like to see a universal birth registry which would presumably tie in to his universal vaccine program.  Additionally, globalist behemoths such as the RAND Corporation have issued documents that identify an interest in biotechnology for the purpose of population reduction, cloning, and to “identify, understand, manipulate, improve, and control living organisms (including ourselves).”

It is important to note that the technology of tracking, tracing, and databasing innocent people right down to their blood is a top-down directive from federal agencies, not a legitimate scientific endeavor.  Legitimate science researches ways to increase human potential and freedom, not use it as a system for identification and control.  With the rise of nanotechnology as a federal initiative, we should strongly resist the collection of our life force to be used in any way that government-controlled science sees fit.

UA climate research: Big stretch of US coast at risk of rising seas

If global temperatures continue to rise and polar ice continues to melt, 9 percent of the land in our coastal cities and towns will be beneath sea level by the end of the century, University of Arizona researchers say.

Climate researchers Jeremy Weiss and Jonathan Overpeck, along with Ben Strauss of Climate Central in Princeton, N.J., mapped the U.S. coastline, using elevations provided by the U.S. Geological Survey. They applied the most recent predictions of a sea level rise of 1 meter (3.28 feet) by 2100 to produce a map that predicts big trouble for 20 cities with more than 300,000 people and for 160 smaller municipalities.

Weiss is a senior researcher in geosciences. Overpeck is a professor of geosciences and atmospheric sciences and co-director of the UA’s Institute of the Environment.

The report was published last week in Climatic Change Letters.

The biggest impact will be felt in low-lying, heavily populated places such as New Orleans, Miami Beach and Virginia Beach, the report says.

Subsequent centuries will bring even higher sea levels that could completely submerge Read more…

Fresh produce prices to double or triple following freak freezes – is Earth in a magnetic pole shift?

February 15, 2011 Comments off

In an article posted on January 3 of this year, I predicted a rise in food prices resulting from freak weather events (http://www.naturalnews.com/030903_p…). Here’s what I said in that article:

By the end of 2012, I predict significant food supply disruptions in North America, brought about either by radical weather affecting crop yields or perhaps the invasion of disease indirectly caused by the over-use of pesticides or GMOs. The number of people in America struggling to feed themselves and their families will rise along with food prices. …Expect to see food prices climb with alarming speed over the next two years. While food won’t disappear, it will become significantly more expensive, causing more people to shift to subsidized foods (corn, sugar, etc.) which also happen to be some of the worst foods for your health.

Now there’s news from Mexico that the fresh produce normally shipped to U.S. grocery stores has been largely destroyed by the freak cold weather snap that struck the continental United States over the past 10 days. As a result, prices on cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes and asparagus are set to double or triple starting right now.

Even worse, it looks like the supply of many of these items will be completely wiped out. You won’t be able to buy them, in other words, at any price!

This is the fallout from the worst freeze event recorded in Read more…

Mexico’s Big Freeze – 80-100% of Crops Damaged, Expect Shortages and Higher Prices

February 11, 2011 1 comment

Kevin Hayden

I received an email from a reader regarding Mexico’s freeze damage over the last few weeks.  In summary, large-scale producers of foods, such as Sysco, have sent out emails to major vendors explaining that there might be shortages of row crop foods due to freezing temperatures that hit Mexico.  It goes on to say that Florida is normally the ‘Plan B’ as they grow many of the same varieties, but they’ve been hit hard by freezes as well and have lost most of their orange orchards.

It also details that expected shortages could be counted on 30-60 days from now and that Mexican farmers are still unsure of their next step – do they they try and quickly replant, hoping for a late March-April yield?  Or disc the fields and wait?  Other information coming in states that many of these crops have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled in price.  For example, a carton of tomatoes went from $6.95 all the way up to $22.95 in one week.  And that’s just one example!

This WILL affect your food cost and supply.  If you’re not going to your local farmer’s market, now is the time to make friends and Read more…

100,000 dead fish Florida – offical story: NO OXYGEN ?

February 9, 2011 Comments off

First it was birds falling out of the sky in Louisiana and Texas. Then scores of devil crabs were found dead on a beach in England.

Now, in the latest unexplained mass animal death to hit the headlines this year alone, thousands of fish have again washed up dead in Florida.

This follows similar incidents where large schools of fish were found lifeless on beaches in Arkansas, Maryland and New Zealand in January.

It's happened again: Thousands of fish have washed up dead on a beach at Sebastian Inlet State Park in Florida. A similar incident happened in a Port Orange creek last month It’s happened again: Thousands of fish have washed up dead on a beach at Sebastian Inlet State Park in Florida. United States of Shame…Where does YOUR State Rank?

January 29, 2011 Comments off

After compiling various census and US health figures, pop culture blog Pleated-Jeans constructed a surprisingly informative map to illustrate the acts for which each of our fifty great states came in dead last.
While some stats fit in with a common stereotype, others are a bit more enlightening.
1. Alabama: highest rate of stroke (3.8 percent) (tied with Oklahoma)
2. Alaska: highest suicide rate (23.6 suicides per 100,000 people in 2004)
4. Arkansas: worst average credit score (636) Read more…

“Atlantis Anomaly” Causes Shutdown Of US Army Weapons Base

January 28, 2011 1 comment

A Russian Space Forces (VKS) report circulating in the Kremlin today says that one of their Kosmos-2469 satellites currently in orbit over North America has detected a gamma ray burst of “unprecedented proportions” emanating from the United States Army’s main weapons base Dugway Proving Ground located in their State of Utah.

According to this report, since the formation of what is described as a “magnetic vortex” began appearing in the Gulf of Aden (see our December 1, 2010 report Mysterious ‘Vortex’ Warned Is Creating Global Weather Catastrophe) a growing number of gamma ray bursts emanating from beneath our Earth and its seas, and directed towards the Sirius star system [Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky], have been detected and have given rise to the belief of many Russian scientists that they belong to an ancient “early warning system” of some type.

One of the largest of these gamma ray bursts was detected coming from the seas off the Florida coast in an area long believed to have once been a part of the Lost Continent of Atlantis described by the classical Greek philosopher and mathematician Plato (428-347BC) as being a naval power lying “in front of the Pillars of Hercules” that conquered many parts of Western Europe and Africa 9,000 years before the time of Solon, or approximately 9600 BC. Northern Lights Could Be Seen In Florida as Poles Shift

January 20, 2011 Comments off
KTSM

It may soon be that compasses are no longer accurate, the North Star could be the South star, and Santa just may be lost.

Don’t blame anyone just yet— the “North Pole” is merely changing.

The change is so critical, workers at two Florida airports are making changes to the Tampa International Airport and Peter O. Knight Airport. Robert Burr of TIA said one runway, number 36, pointed North at 360 degrees. But now, that same runway points 10 degrees north. TIA decided to repaint the numbers on the runway to match the pilot compass readings. Runway number 36 is now number 1.

Chris Connor, Ph.D., a Volcanologist with the University of South Florida, said that there’s a magnetic pole which is produced by changes and or flow of iron in the core of the earth. Connor said the constantly moving molten iron creates a magnet on a planetary scale with a magnetic North and South Pole. He also said that the magnetic fields have been moving— what used to be in northern Canada is now in northern Siberia.

The last shift was more than 700,000 years ago, and some experts are saying it’s time for the change. Every million years or so Earth’s magnetic pole does a flip, and new poles arise in random places. After the poles are settled, South may be the new North and vice versa. Meaning that maybe the Aurora Borealis could be seen in Florida.
