Stonehenge Beneath the Waters of Lake Michigan

Has a Stonehenge like structure been discovered underneath the waters of Lake Michigan. If so, the site could be around 10,000 years old!

In a surprisingly under-reported story from 2007, Mark Holley, a professor of underwater archaeology at Northwestern Michigan University College, discovered a series of stones – some of them arranged in a circle and one of which seemed to show carvings of a mastodon – 40-feet beneath the surface waters of Lake Michigan.

Giant rats lead scientists to ancient face carvings

Ancient stone faces carved into the walls of a well-known limestone cave in East Timor have been discovered by a team searching for fossils of extinct giant rats.

The team of archaeologists and palaeontologists were working in Lene Hara Cave on the northeast tip of East Timor.

“Looking up from the cave floor at a colleague sitting on a ledge, my head torch shone on what seemed to be a weathered carving,” CSIRO’s Dr Ken Aplin said.

Live baby dinosaur discovered in New Zealand

Most people grew up being taught that the mighty race of dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago. But it’s not true; dinosaurs still walk the Earth.

No, it isn’t a T-Rex or a living relative of the Loch Ness Monster…but it is one of the oldest living creatures on Earth.

A dinosaur that didn’t go extinct 60 million years ago may be news to some people, including many Western paleontologists that have created a cottage industry debunking living dinosaur stories. Well here’s one they can’t debunk because even New Zealand scientists agree that this dinosaur specimen is the real deal!

For only the second time in more than two centuries a genuine baby dinosaur has been seen on the mainland of New Zealand and the news has scientists bubbling over with undisguised joy.
